Bike & Bodega Day Tour

Take a pleasant, easy bike ride through the countryside from Ronda and finish at a local organic winery or ‘bodega’. Enjoy a tour of the winery and wine tasting with optional 3-course lunch.

Hike and Bike the Sierras are specialist cycling and mountain biking guides, living and working in the region around Ronda in Andalucía, southern Spain. We have unmatched knowledge of the local landscape and the quiet tracks which criss-cross between villages, farms and, of course, wineries. For our 'Bike and Bodega Cycling Tour', we work together with a fantastic local winery, Joaquin Fernandez, to create a unique day tour experience. The cycling is led by a qualified bike guide, and the bodega tour and tasting is led by a member of the Fernandez family who set up the bodega.

Cycling through Rural Andalucían Countryside

The countryside around Ronda is, without a doubt, some of the most beautiful and unspoiled in Spain. Wide open spaces, olive and almond groves, forests of cork oak and pine, rolling hills, dramatic mountains, lakes, and rivers. Dotted throughout the landscape are pretty Andalucían white villages or ‘pueblos blancos. The region is one of peace and tranquillity, with fabulous local food and wine to be enjoyed at every stop

We have designed our Bike & Bodega cycling tour for leisure cyclists who want to experience a little of the local countryside whilst also then enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes of one of Ronda’s most celebrated organic wineries. The ride is just 18km on quiet tacks and easy trails, keeping riders away from traffic and in the heart of the countryside.

Wine Tasting & Tour

The bodega Joaquin Fernandez is located on hills outside Ronda, with fabulous views across the vineyard and local landscape. Wines are produced from locally-grown grapes, incorporating all the flavours of the Spanish sun and soil. Bottles are sealed with locally grown cork and beeswax, creating a truly unique and delicious wine package.
