Aurora Winery and Vineyards, Surrounded by Olive and Oak Groves
Overlooking the Walnut River and surrounded by olive and oak groves, in a charming village of Aoura, there lies a small and beautiful wine estate Aurora Winery. The estate-owned vineyards are flanked by the mountains of Batroun, in northern Lebanon. Enjoying their winemaking hobby, the Geara Family delivers single-varietal, terroir-driven wines that reflect the purity of the soil and grapes they produce.
History of the Winery
Wine production at Aurora Winery and Vineyards began in the early 2000s. The family used to grow vines for a local Arak label, which only family members and some selected customers enjoyed. The winemaking grew into a business in 2006 when the Gearas constructed the Aurora Winery facility.
The Reason for a Vast Range of Grapes
Nestled in the Mediterranean Mountains and enhanced by its terrace location to retain rainwater, grape cultivation includes a vast range of grapes. Some of their vine varieties are Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. Aurora Winery also cultivates high-end Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay to increase its production line.
Today, Aurora Winery and Vineyards creates delicious red, white, and rosé wines, all made from the finest winegrowing regions.
Equipped with modern technology and advanced winemaking methods, Aurora Winery is a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. Gearas stores their whites in tanks that give freshness and elegance to their wines. The estate’s red wines are aged and refined in American and French oak barrels.
