Cascina Pian d’Or and their successful Moscato wines
The Cascina Pian d’Or is a wine company located in the Mango, the best place to grow Moscato d’Asti DOC wines. It is a family winery that is now run by the third generation of the family. Since the early 20th century, the Barbero family have been keeping their traditions and are working on their vineyards to grow the best Moscato grapes. The owner, Valter Barbero and his wife, Lina, have a lot of experience in viticulture and dedicate their work to the cultivation of Moscato grapes and using them to make an aromatic, sweet and unique wine. It was at the beginning of the 90s that Valter decided to transform the Moscato grapes into wine so that people appreciate the freshness and sweetness of the grapes in a glass.
Their wines are loved all over the world and have had a great success on international markets.
The international recognition of the winery
The 20-hectare vineyards are located on hills with an important sun exposure. A lot of care is taken in the vineyards to grow ripe grapes. In addition to an ideal terroir, Valter Barbabro uses traditional methods in the vineyards and allows nature to express itself. Grapes are handpicked when fully ripe and taken to the cellar where their modern equipment and technology process the grapes and produce their famous wines. Their passion and commitment towards winemaking have earned them great respect in many countries including the USA, Netherlands, Switzerland and China.
