Boeri Alfonso Winery, Nestled Between the Beautiful Langhe Hills

The estate is situated in Bionzo, a medieval and charming town in the province of Asti in the southern part of the Piedmont region. This hilly area, with breath taking views of historic vineyards, has a long history of battles and winemaking. In this hilly area, the estate covers an area of ten hectares on the last hills of Monferrato on the border along with the Langhe hills.

Taste Historic Wines from Old Vines Planted in 1936

In the early 1900s, the Boeri Company established its base. Alfonso Boeri, the great-grandfather of the current owners, started cultivating the vine on the Bricco Quaglia hill. For many years Alfonso Boeri owned the winery before his son Giovanni took it over, followed by his nephew Alfonso. Later, Giorgio and Roberto Boeri acquired the estate and chose to vinify the best grapes to bottle their wines. For their first wine, Barbera d’Asti Superiore Pörlapà, they use grapes from the vineyard planted by the grandfather in 1936. Presently, the Boeri estate is successfully trading and exporting wines to 15 countries worldwide. The Boeri Alfonso Winery continues to flourish its old traditions and cultivates an excellent quality of Pörlapà Barbera. Besides Barbera, the company grows Nebbiolo, Chardonnay and Moscato and Dolcetto. Aging of wines takes place in an old cellar, which is about 200 years old. The working environment at Boeri shows all the respect they have for nature and traditional wine production.
