The Cantina della Serra Story

Our company is a cooperative. We have 300 members who give high-quality grapes, some of them are organic grapes, the others in an integrated regime. All vineyards are in Canavese, North Piedmont. We have been producing wines since 1953, and our winery was created by Adriano Olivetti, the famous typewriter maker; he believed that there cannot be only one economy, but different economies must coexist to satisfy and make grow a territory. We produce wines 100% from Piedmontese grapes: Erbaluce, Nebbiolo, and Barbera. Our territory is a morainic amphitheater made of incredibly varied alpine rocks. Rich in rivers, lakes, hills, mountains, and plains. We are waiting for you!

Best Grapes for Great Wines

Only the best grapes come from Cantina della Serra. The company has been producing wine for over half a decade and is well versed in what it takes to make a truly exquisite bottle of wine. The landscape and climate of the region matter a lot when it comes to wine production. The weather and temperature conditions can have an indirect impact on how grape vines grow, as well as how they produce fruit and in turn, how wines will taste. Cantina della Serra is located in northern Piedmont of Italy where the country's ideal terroir for grapes exists, including plenty of sunshine, low rainfall, and rich soil. This makes for a perfect environment for grapes to grow with optimal quality.

Wonderful and knowledgeable experience tasting Erbaluce wine. Such a friendly girl who spoke with us and led a great wine tasting. We left with more bottles than we intended 😄 Full of locals, good sign. Wish every Cantina in Italy was like this.

We visited Serra Winery for a wine tasting and a tour of the production facility. During the tour we received excellent guidance in English and our guide Chiara was warm and attentive throughout our event! We learned a lot about wine processing and got to taste interesting and good wines! We warmly recommend Serra to our friends and are looking forward to spring and the opportunity also to get to know the vines out in the field with a new tour - thank you Serra and your excellent team for the memorable afternoon at your place!

I had the pleasure of visiting the Serra Erbaluce Cellars and I must say that the experience was truly exceptional. Special thanks go to the two girls who assisted me: professional, friendly and competent, they were able to advise me impeccably, guiding me in the choice of wines with passion and great attention to my preferences. Thanks to their assistance, I discovered labels that not only surprised me, but that I will definitely carry with me for special occasions. I highly recommend a visit to these cellars to anyone who wants an authentic, welcoming experience full of good wine. Congratulations to the whole team!

I visited the winery two years ago accompanied by a friend of mine. This year I brought friends from slow food Messina (restaurateurs, producers, chefs, enthusiasts, etc...). A large group that appreciated the passion, the love for the land and the cultivation of the vine which is transformed into exceptional products, first and foremost "erba luce".
