Experience the Legacy of the Lords of Mauvans in Provence
Château de Mauvanne: A Scenic Vineyard Overlooking Hyères
Since 1955, Château de Mauvanne has held the prestigious title of Cru Classé Côtes de Provence. Spanning 43 hectares, this winery cultivates a diverse range of grape varieties, benefiting from a unique terroir that produces exceptional Mediterranean wines steeped in history.
A Rich Historical Background
The origins of Château de Mauvanne trace back to the 17th century. In 1934, actress Simone Berriau acquired the estate, and after World War II, she revitalized it into one of Hyères' most esteemed wineries. Following a significant renovation in 1999, Bassim Rahal, a skilled winemaker, took over the estate. Under his guidance, Château de Mauvanne has gained recognition for its high-quality white, rosé, and red wines. Today, the winery features a modern cellar and a dedicated team, solidifying its status as a top winery in Hyères.
A Diverse Selection of Grape Varieties
At Château de Mauvanne, a variety of grapes flourish. For red and rosé wines, the estate cultivates Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Cabernet Sauvignon. For white wines, Ugni Blanc and Clairette are grown. Wine enthusiasts can enjoy a family vacation while learning about the rich culture and winemaking traditions at Château de Mauvanne.
