A Winery with an Exciting History
So, the history of Mauvanne Castle dates back to the seventeenth century. Simone Berriau, an actress, acquired the winery in 1934. When the Second World War ended, she renovated the estate and converted it into one of the proudest estates in the city of Hyères. After the renovation in 1999, Bassim Rahal – the owner of the estate and a brilliant winemaker – works with big competence and happiness in the vineyards. At Château de Mauvanne, history, tradition, and competence come together to create outstanding wines. A Wide Range of Grape Varieties Thrives at Château de Mauvanne
Château de Mauvanne grows a wide array of vines. For red and rosé wines, they cultivate Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre along with Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon.
