Deltetto 1953 - Roero & Alta Langa

A FAMILY TRADITION

The Deltetto family has deep roots in the Roero region, dating back to the late 19th century when our first bottles were crafted in a farmhouse nestled on the steep hills of "I Lioni.” In 1953, our grandfather Carlo established the winery in Canale, where we continue to honor his legacy today.

Our father Antonio passionately followed in Carlo's footsteps, playing a key role in the establishment of the Roero appellation, which showcases the unique qualities of the Nebbiolo and Arneis grape varieties. During this time, Antonio also nurtured a love for the Traditional Method of winemaking, which blossomed into a significant part of our story with the acquisition of Alta Langa vineyards.

Today, we—Carlo, Cristina, and Claudia—represent the third generation of our family, dedicated to preserving our rich heritage while embracing modern winemaking techniques. We are guided by the values and teachings passed down through the generations.

Our vineyards span the municipalities of Canale, Castellinaldo, Santo Stefano Roero, Roddino, and Sinio. Each vineyard is carefully selected to create the ideal harmony between grape variety and soil, ensuring the highest quality wines.

We focus on expressing the true character of each grape variety, highlighting the distinctiveness of each vineyard and the subtleties of every vintage. Our goal is to produce wines that resonate with authenticity and emotion.

We are proud to be SQNPI certified, reflecting our commitment to sustainability in viticulture. This certification ensures responsible management of waste, water, and energy, as well as the use of eco-friendly packaging.

Our dedication extends beyond environmental concerns. Through our "Labels of Author" project, we collaborate with emerging artists to support social and cultural initiatives, showcasing their work on our wine labels each year.

Very nice winery with very friendly and accommodating owners. Despite it being late in the afternoon, we were able to taste the wines in peace and took several of the good wines home with us.

Cristina is a lovely host and makes you feel the importance of family and tradition in wine making. The family even bottles special wines for each new born child ! Their wines are fantastic but their story makes all the difference with the large industrial-scale wineries...

A gem. Family-run high quality winery with a lot of passion for the product, which translates in the wine tasting. Very generous, knowledgeable and welcoming. The wines are superb and they put a lot of emphasis on the (hard to make well) white and sparkling wines with grapes from the region. Would strongly recommend.
