The Largest Vineyard in Khao Yai, Thailand
Located just a two-hour drive northeast of Bangkok, PB Valley Estate is easily accessible via a well-maintained six-lane highway. This stunning winery is nestled on the edge of Khao Yai National Park, marking the heart of the Khao Yai wine region.
The Khao Yai Wine Region
PB Valley Estate is a year-round destination, benefiting from a cooler climate than Bangkok due to its mountainous surroundings. The ideal time to visit is between November and March, during the dry season. The estate's grape harvest occurs from late January to early March, while fresh table grapes are available throughout the year.
Wine Varieties and Growing Conditions
The estate cultivates several grape varieties, including Shiraz, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc, and Colombard. Pruning takes place in late September to early October, with the harvest typically starting at the end of January. Additionally, the Maroon Seedless table grape variety, originally from Australia, thrives in a protected area of the estate.
Vineyard Tours and Dining Experience
PB Valley Estate offers guided vineyard and winery tours, showcasing the beauty of the Khao Yai wine region as a unique tourist destination. Visitors can also enjoy a meal at the Great Hornbill Winery Restaurant, which features a scenic country-style setting and a diverse menu of Thai, Western, and fusion dishes, along with delicious pizzas and snacks.
