Belonging to the Rutas del Vino de España, the Tomelloso Winery is located in the heart of La Mancha, northeast of the province of Ciudad Real, Spain. The estate is surrounded by caves and vineyards expressing the old traditions of the winemaking family. At Tomelloso, the staff offers a unique and cultural wine tasting and winery tour to their guests.
The Vinicola De Tomelloso was established in 1986 and combines 28 winegrowing families together under one common goal.
More than 30 Years of Experience, Approximately 2500 Hectares of Vineyards
The lovely tale of Vinicola De Tomelloso began in 1986 with 28 families. Their passion and love for vineyards and wines brought them together in this collaboration and the project has been passed down from one generation to the next. In 1991, the first white wine was produced under the brand name ANIL and later Abrego, and Torre De Gazate red wines were introduced. The company is also a certified producer of sparkling wines in Castilla-La Mancha. With more than 30 years of experience, the owners today own approximately 2500 hectares of vineyards.
Macabeo, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc in the Vineyards of Tomelloso Winery
At the Tomelloso Winery, some of the vineyards have recently been replanted with the grape variety Airén. With complete respect to the environment, the families grow a broad array of other grapes, such as Macabeo, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Tempranillo, along with world-class Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Apart from red, white, and sparkling wines, the company produces rich-quality dessert and rosé wines, all under DO La Mancha labels.
The company is also bordered by historical architectures that adds beauty to the winery. Dotted by more than 2000 old caves of the 17th century, the estate boasts unique tourism facilities, combined with the possibility of exceptional meals in a Mabel restaurant.
