Quinta das Quintas – Vintage Port – Historical Legacy

Quinta do Vesúvio is a unique and exclusive place in Portugal in the Douro Superior!

The experience on Vesúvio begins with an unforgettable train journey from Régua station to the stop created in the 19th century by Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, at her Quinta. This trip crosses the entire heart of the Douro and arrives in Douro Superior for a day that makes us travel back in time! Upon arrival at Vesúvio around 11:40 am we are greeted by a welcome drink in Dona Antónia's living room with a wonderful view over the landscape.

Then, at around 12 noon, we head towards the top of the mountain to understand why this is the “quinta das quintas”, where size and beauty were undoubtedly the reason why Ferreirinha decided that this would be the your home.

So, after visiting the vineyard and getting to know the limits of the plantation in the Douro Superior, we went down to the house for an unparalleled wine tasting accompanied by a perfect snack for the analysis of flavors!

Once the sensory part is open, we go up to the balcony for a lunch where there will be no shortage of wine and port!

After a good lunch and to relax the 5 senses, we set off on a short walk to the Vesúvio Cellars and the mills where wine is still made in the traditional way. Quinta do Vesúvio is a place full of history and has a unique cultural heritage due to the symbolism it represents in wine culture. This experience is different because the place makes us fall in love with the landscape, history and Wine. Here, as in the entire Douro valley, nature's conditions are perfect for plants, but the charm of this place is symbolic for everything it represents!
