With Country Walk, Winery Tasting, Regional Wine Cellar and Castle Visit

We'll start our day with coffee at the gorgeous art-filled village of Dozza then set off for a country walk of approximately 7km on footpaths through vines and on country roads. The route is not difficult, although there are a few short but steep slopes. On the way we'll talk about the region's wines and some insights on the local history, geography and geology.

During the walk, we'll stop at a winery in a stunning panoramic position for a tasting of four local wines, which include Albana DOCG, Italy's first white DOCG-certified wine.

When we get back to the village, we can stop for lunch at a typical trattoria (the cost of lunch is not included – you can pay for what you choose to eat). After lunch we'll have time to stroll through the village to admire the many murals before touring the striking medieval castle together.

Our tour of the castle will end up in the atmospheric castle cellars which houses the Emilia Romagna regional wine association with around 1,000 of the region's best wines. We'll try some more wines and buy them if we wish.

Transport from Bologna by train and taxi is included so just ask for a personalised tour plan if you have your own vehicle.

A second winery tour and tasting can be added as an optional extra for this day.
