Local wines but steep price
The wines tasted were nice and it was great to be able to experience the unique wines of the island. The man who did the tasting was knowledgeable enough and friendly. It's a shame the location isn't a bit prettier and that the "cheese platter" is literally just two pieces of cheese and some packet crackers. For €20 per person I think a bit more in terms of nibbles and decor would make it feel better value for money.

The winery collects most of the grapes produced on the island. The managers of the Cooperative are very active and seem to have clear ideas about their growth path, which also includes the complete renovation of the structure next year. The wines offered are good and the organization is professional.

Let's stay at the winery in October 2024 and do a wine tasting. It was explained to us at the origin of each species as well as the breeds of the Açores. We enjoyed very much tasting two 5 wines. All very harmonious and balanced. A word of gratitude to Maria who answered all of our questions.
