A relaxed, seasonal lunch paired with a selection of our current releases and older vintages.

Hosted at a shared table for up to 12 guests, with each course prepared by Chef Louise Flanagan to complement the wines.

Setting varies depending on the day — from the cellar tasting room to the garden, vineyard, or Little Villa.

Guests are welcomed for arrival at 13:00, with the experience concluding at a leisurely pace around 15:30.

Please note we are unable to accommodate vegan or gluten-intolerant dietary requirements.

You can tell from everything you see that this winery is focused primarily on producing wines of exceptional quality, rather than presenting a marketing story. I have never seen more technical detail about soils, terroir, vintages and tasting notes than at De Trafford. We booked a vineyard tour, done by David Trafford himself, and this offered the rare chance to get in touch with the architect of the wines himself and gain an insight in the process of creating these briliant wines. Afterwards we have done the tasting, and - being passionate about wine - I asked if we could do a little vintage tasting to experience the ageing potential of the wines. The lady kindly offered us to taste some older vintages and it turned out to be a very exciting comparison of younger vs aged wines. The word 'hidden gem' is used quite often these days, but if you are truly into the quality of the wine itself, the ageing potential and the complexity, then look no further. For me this is without a doubt the best boutique-winery in South-Africa.

I loved visiting and the solo wine-tasting experience here deep in Stellenbosch. The wines were lovely, too. The lady who assisted was amazing and patient - all you need on your birthday:-). I'll definitely be back some time.
