FENAVIN Match 2026

Castilla-La Mancha Spain 2–3 June 2026

FENAVIN Match 2026 is one of the wine festivals that anchors the Castilla-La Mancha calendar, drawing both local visitors and international wine travellers each year. It is held at IFEDI Fairground Complex in Ciudad Real, in the heart of one of Spain's most distinctive wine areas. It has been running since 2001, with a long unbroken local tradition behind it.

200 international buyers from 50+ countries. Investment of €1.2 million. Complements the traditional biennial FENAVIN fair. Wine trade fairs are the most efficient way to taste a broad cross-section of producers in a short time. Attendees can expect organised tasting halls grouped by appellation, masterclass programmes with guest speakers, sommelier-led sessions on individual grape varieties, and structured opportunities to meet producers. Most major events are reserved for trade visitors — buyers, importers, sommeliers, journalists, restaurateurs — but include public-facing days or evenings during the run of the event. The events have grown into key fixtures of the international wine industry calendar, with several drawing buyers from over 60 countries. The event is organised by Diputación de Ciudad Real, which sets the tone and direction of the programme each year.

Castilla-La Mancha covers most of central Spain south of Madrid and is the country's largest wine-producing area by volume and vineyard hectares (around 50% of all Spanish vineyards). Nine appellations cover the region: La Mancha (the largest), Manchuela, Ucles, Mentrida, Ribera del Jucar, Jumilla, Mondejar, Valdepeñas and Almansa. Airen is the main white grape and Tempranillo (locally Cencibel) the main red, with Bobal, Garnacha Tintorera, Monastrell and increasingly Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah also planted. The region has shifted considerably toward quality wine production since the 1990s.

The 2026 edition is scheduled for 2-3 June 2026. Cost details are best confirmed directly with the organiser ahead of travel. Full programme, ticketing and updated information are published on the official site at fenavin.com. Visitors are advised to check directly with the organiser for the latest schedule, as festival programmes are sometimes updated close to the event date.

Castilla-La Mancha is reached via Madrid (the high-speed AVE rail network connects Madrid to Toledo, Ciudad Real and Cuenca within 30-90 minutes). Valdepeñas, Tomelloso, Alcazar de San Juan and the windmills of Campo de Criptana sit at the heart of the La Mancha region. Castilian-Manchego cuisine pairs the wines with manchego cheese (the world-famous sheep's milk cheese), pisto manchego, gazpacho manchego (a meat-based stew), morteruelo, asado lechazo and saffron from La Mancha — the world's most expensive spice and a regional speciality.
