Mostra PROAVA

Valencia Spain 9–13 April 2026 (36th edition)

Mostra PROAVA is one of the wine festivals that anchors the Valencia calendar, drawing both local visitors and international wine travellers each year. It is held at Jardín del Turia in Valencia, in the heart of one of Spain's most distinctive wine areas. The 2026 event marks the 36th edition of the festival, reflecting its consistent place in the regional calendar.

Major enogastronomic event of the Valencian Community. 100+ stalls with award-winning wines, cavas, vermouths. Tickets from €14.99. Wine festivals across Europe typically combine producer tastings with food pairings, live music, and a strong sense of place. Visitors can expect access to wines from a range of producers in the appellation, alongside food stalls offering regional specialities, masterclasses or vineyard walks for those who want to learn more, and an opportunity to buy directly from producers at cellar prices. Many events run across multiple days or weekends, allowing visitors to sample different parts of the programme according to interest, and combine well with the area's wider tourism offer. The event is organised by PROAVA (Asociación Profesional de Productores de Vino de Valencia), which sets the tone and direction of the programme each year.

Valencia wine region runs along Spain's Mediterranean coast, with the Valencia DO and Utiel-Requena DO covering most of the production. Bobal is the regional flagship red grape, with Tempranillo, Monastrell and Garnacha also widely planted. Whites are made from Macabeo, Merseguera, Moscatel and Chardonnay. The region also includes the Alicante DO further south, producing Monastrell-based reds and the historic Fondillon dessert wine, and the small Pago appellations including El Terrerazo and Chozas Carrascal.

The 2026 edition is scheduled for 9-13 April 2026 (36th edition). Cost details are best confirmed directly with the organiser ahead of travel. Full programme, ticketing and updated information are published on the official site at proava.org. Visitors are advised to check directly with the organiser for the latest schedule, as festival programmes are sometimes updated close to the event date.

Valencia is reached via Valencia airport, with the AVE rail network connecting Valencia to Madrid in under 2 hours. Utiel-Requena sits about 70 km inland from Valencia city. Alicante (further south) is reached via Alicante-Elche airport, with the wine areas of Vinalopo and Marina Alta as the main wine-tourism zones in the province. Valencian cuisine pairs the wines with paella valenciana (the original chicken-and-rabbit version), arroz a banda, fideua, all-i-pebre (eel and potato stew) and horchata de chufa (tiger-nut milk).
