Located in the heart of Samaniego, Pascal Berganzo Winery is a family-run establishment with a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Specializing in carbonic macerated wines and traditional Rioja Alavesa varieties, the winery has evolved under the guidance of Eduardo Pascal, who began modern winemaking practices in the 1980s. Today, his son continues this legacy, introducing the Alutiz brand in honor of his mother. The winery combines modern technology with traditional methods, utilizing stainless steel tanks for fermentation and aging wines in carefully selected barrels.

Perfect Conditions for Vine Growth

The vineyards of Pascal Berganzo are situated in southern Alava, surrounded by the breathtaking Sierra de Tolono and Sierra de Cantabria. This region boasts clay-rich soil and a mild climate, which protects the vines from harsh winds. Although yields are low, the grapes produced are of exceptional quality, resulting in wines with rich fruit aromas and deep colors.

Unique Cellar Experience at Pascal Berganzo Winery

The winery cultivates several grape varieties, including Tempranillo, Viura, White Tempranillo, Verdejo, and Garnacha. These grapes are used to create a range of red, white, and rosé wines. The cellar, located in Barrio de Matarredo at the entrance of Samaniego, features 85 openings carved into the rock nearly two centuries ago. The stunning interior design of the cellar captivates visitors with its elegance and charm.
