Oscar Bosio Winery, a View of the Alps and the Alba Plain
Perched on the gentle hills of Santo Stefano Belbo, the Oscar Bosio Winery is located in the beautiful village – Valdivilla. The winery offers a 360-degree view of the charming vineyards, the Alps, and the Alba plain and can spellbind anyone who pays a visit. It is one the very few wineries that produces dry Moscato. Besides wines, the winery also delivers tasty Grappas under Moscato d’Asti DOCG and Langhe Nebbiolo DOC status.
The Beginning of Moscato Cultivation at Oscar Bosio
The history of Oscar Bosio began in 1954 when the Bosio Family purchased the company and started the cultivation of Moscato grapes. Today the third generation of the winemaking family is operating the administration of the winery, with great passion and dedication. Oscar’s sons also help their father in the wine production areas – Edoardo Bosio, the eldest son, is the digital and marketing manager, while Francesco Bosio manages the wine production stages.
Greenery between the Vines for Biodiversity in the Vineyards
Perfectly exposed to the bright burst of sunshine, the vineyards are extended over an area of 18 hectares where Oscar cultivates a variety of grapes. In the vineyards, the owner grows high-quality Moscato Bianco di Canelli, Barbera, and Nebbiolo, clubbed with fruity Dolcetto, Barolo, Barbaresco, and Chardonnay. Under the finest Langhe appellations, the winery produces delicious red and white wines, along with tasty dessert, and sparkling wines. Oscar uses integrated vineyard management techniques and leaves the grass to grow in between the rows of vines which acts as a green nutrients for the vines.
The cellar of Oscar Bosio Winery is outfitted with modern technology. Oscar uses oak casks and oak barrels to age and refine his wines and Grappas.
