The Organic Wines of Château Bas in Aix-en-Provence

Château Bas is nestled in the picturesque region of Aix-en-Provence, with a rich history that dates back to Roman times. Acquired by Mr. and Mrs. Georges in 1980, this estate reflects their deep passion for winemaking. The winery is committed to organic farming practices, ensuring that every bottle of wine produced respects and preserves the land. At Château Bas, sustainability is at the heart of their winemaking philosophy.

Château Bas and Terroir

Spanning 70 hectares, the vineyard features two distinct soil types that contribute to the unique character of its wines. The first is a silty, deep soil ideal for growing grapes used in the Alvernègue vintage wines. The second is a stony soil, perfect for crafting the cuvée wines. This diverse terroir plays a crucial role in the quality and flavor profiles of the wines produced here.

A good castle with typical regional products. Its grounds include an architectural gem of Roman origin, the Temple of Diana, which is worth a visit in itself. The castle and the Aldo Monument are free.

The interior is looking excellent after a revamp of the premises, the wines are still excellent and the service is excellent.
