Quality Torgiano Wines at Lungarotti

Founded by Giorgio Lungarotti in the 1960s, Lungarotti Winery has played a pivotal role in revitalizing Torgiano and the broader Umbria region. The winery is dedicated to producing high-quality wines through sustainable and organic practices. With a rich winemaking heritage, Lungarotti is committed to preserving the unique characteristics of their land while sharing Umbria's exceptional wines with the world. The experienced team blends modern technology with traditional methods to craft outstanding Torgiano and Montefalco wines.

Sustainable Practices at the Winery

The quality of Lungarotti's wines is deeply rooted in their vineyard management. The region's favorable climate and natural conditions create an ideal environment for grape growing. By employing sustainable and organic techniques, the winery prioritizes environmental health and the vitality of their vines. Lungarotti is proud to be the first winery in Umbria and the ninth in Italy to receive the VIVA Verification Certificate, which underscores their commitment to minimizing the ecological impact of winemaking. Innovative and Natural Wines

Lungarotti cultivates Sagrantino and Sangiovese grapes, producing a diverse range of red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines. A standout offering is the Rubesco, known for its robust personality and striking ruby red hue. Celebrated as a hallmark of Italian winemaking, Rubesco recently marked its 50th anniversary in 2012. The winery also houses vintage Rubesco bottles from the 1960s, which are showcased in vertical tastings to highlight the evolution of this iconic wine. Visitors to Lungarotti can expect an enriching wine experience that reflects the winery's rich history and commitment to quality.

A really enjoyable winery tour and tasting with Luca as our host. Luca gave us a lot of information about the area, the winery, the processes and the wine itself. The location is stunning, as is the villa. The wines are also excellent, particularly the Montefalco Rosso and Montefalco Sagrantino.
