Taste Hungary is a multi-tiered company dedicated to showcasing Hungarian wine!

Wine Tasting Cellar

The Tasting Table is our wine cellar located in a historic building in Budapest’s Palace District. Our sommeliers lead daily wine tastings, we host winemaker dinners (as well as private events) in our open kitchen, and we have regular pop-up wine tastings.

Our fun and educational wine tastings are available almost every day! Advance booking is required.

The Wine Shop

The Tasting Table Wine Shop (across the street, at Bródy Sándor utca 22) features our curated selection of fine Hungarian wines, spirits, and cheese. We feature pours of different wines every week—new arrivals and staff favorites—so you can discover new wines while browsing.

The Tours

We offer daily food and drink tours, wine tastings, wine tours, and private and custom tours for groups. Our experiences educate travelers about the region through its cuisine and wine, history, culture, and the context in the larger world. We draw on our experience, research, and deep personal connections to craft our tours, and choose our wines. We are also committed to making Hungarian wine accessible to our audience by offering service as shipping in the EU, retail, importing to the US, and wine clubs.

Amazing experience! The manager is really good at explaining the wines and is very knowledgeable! We drank two glasses of the most famous wines of Hungary and we liked them a lot. The place is small but very cozy and well stocked.

A great little local wine shop. The owner puts a lot of effort into finding the wine that suits you best. He knows it like the back of his hand, it's a real pleasure to talk to him! Very nice follow up! Forget the overpriced shops in central Budapest and walk a few more minutes to find the gem!

I was here today to buy a few bottles to take back home (to Italy). The owner was very friendly and competent; he explained many wines to us in great detail. I highly recommend asking for his suggestions when making a purchase! I also let us taste a couple of glasses of wine, to help us find the perfect selection for us. It’s been really nice!

Very good local products and good host. Too bad our level of English is not up to par.

The whole experience was really great. I was welcomed by Christian, and the trip around different parts of Hungary began by introducing the four wines I'd be tasting; from a white wine to a rose one and then to a red, finishing on a high note with a sweet white one (which, although not my cup of tea, was surprisingly refreshing). Christian shared all necessary information about the different regions and the techniques used to produce each wine and was there to answer my various questions. I would definitely recommend giving it a try and also checking out the other options available for wine tasting, or if you're planning to stay longer, even schedule a tour to one of Hungary's wineries. A 5 out of 5 also for the host's friendly and positive attitude, which was key for ensuring the best experience. Thank you, Christian and team! PS. If you end up wanting to buy a bottle (or two), just ask for recommendations. Simply let them know what your palette likes the most and you will get the wine that best suits your tastes.
