Magda Pedrini, a Winery with Premium Terroir
Magda Pedrini Winery is located in Pratolungo, a small village in the center of Cortese and Gavi D.O.C.G. adjoining some sunny natural amphitheaters. It is a place of historical significance and always had an ideal microclimate for vine cultivation. Magda Pedrini started recovering this land in 2006 by crushing the rock layer and restoring the historical vineyards. The vines exclusively grow Cortese grapes, and the wines of this region tend to have floral and fruit-forward flavors.
Magda Pedrini Winery was initially known as Ca ‘de Meo, a cluster of fields and vineyards that belonged to the royal Genoese families.
The Road to Sustainability
The vineyards of Magda Pedrini extend over an area of 12 hectares, and since 2017 the winery started to convert to organic agricultural methods. The winery now has modern and innovative equipment to increase and stabilize their production. The team is working towards sustainability. They try to use natural water resources and renewable energy sources such as sunlight. Workers handpick the grapes and take the best bunches to the winery in 20-kilogram wooden boxes. There is minimal use of sulfites so that the wine keeps its original aromas and aging potential.
