Dötsch Haupt Winery, Surrounded with Charming Landscapes and a Stunning Castle

Fascinated by the charming landscapes of Koberner and surrounded by vineyards and a castle, Dötsch Haupt Winery has its roots in the Mosel Valley. The vines express the region’s originality in which they are grown with interesting slate soils and long warm growing days. Currently, the owner has installed 30 railways of cogwheel train to visit the vineyards in a unique way for guests.

The Winemaking Tradition

The winemaking tradition has run in the Dötsch Family for centuries. Preserving the legacy, the father of Martin Dötsch took over the winery in 1983. Later in 1986, he merged it with his brother-in-law’s traditional winery – the Heinrich Haupt Winery and gave new value to their family business. Today, Martin, the current owner since 2003, and his wife Gaby owns 12 hectares of terraced vineyards. Only manual methods of grape growing are practiced at Dötsch Haupt Winery, respecting the region’s heritage and the environment.

Enjoy a Wonderful Tasting and Stay at the Winery

Martin focuses on cultivating two main grapes, Riesling and Pinot Noir, although Riesling is the estate’s flagship variety. Using these vines, the winery produces a wide range of wines, such as top-class red, white, and rosé wines, combined with high-end sparkling and dessert wines.
There is a well-furnished wine shop for guests to have an excellent tasting experience.

Dötsch Haupt Winery also owns an ideal apartment, overlooking the beauty of Niederburg, the bell tower, and the vineyards.
