In the 1960s, Georges Theotoky revitalized the winery, modernizing its production methods to meet contemporary standards while maintaining the essence of traditional Greek winemaking.

The Theotoky Estate is not just a winery; it also houses a remarkable library and a wine museum. The library boasts around 35,000 volumes, including ancient and modern texts, maps, and journals focused on the Byzantine Empire, the Balkans, and the Ionian Islands. This extensive collection is meticulously cataloged for easy access. The wine museum showcases the evolution of winemaking techniques over the years, featuring historical artifacts such as an old weighing machine named after Georges J. Theotoky, a former Prime Minister of Greece, and a unique bottle washer among other intriguing machinery.

A quiet and peaceful place, a family producing wines and olive oil for three generations, the estate is located in the Rupa Valley, near the village of Gianades, in the heart of Corfu Island, 17 km from Corfu Town. The estate includes over 300 dunams, most of which are covered with pine trees, olive groves and vineyards. Wine tasting with bread, salami, cheese with tomato and olives, all with their own olive oil for a cost of 14 Euro per person.

The visiting to the winery was not very in detail and was quite short, then we started the wine tasting with some bread, salami, feta cheese and tomatoes salad with olives, everything with their own olive oil. The two white wine are just okay, but the red (Cabernet Sauvignon) and rose (Syrah) wines (extra 5-4 € per glass) are very good, and I recommend to pay the extra money for them. Their own olive oil are deep, aromatic and very good, so we decided to buy two bottles. It was delicious.
