Tóth Ferenc Pincészet winery: a family run company
Along the Kistályai Road, Eger, in the Heves County of Eger Wine Region in Hungary lies the nationally known winery known as Tóth Ferenc Pincészet. The Tóth Ferenc Pincészet is a family run winery as all generations, young and old have been working together passionately to bring forward the good reputation of the winery and the wines of Eger.
Preserving the traditions of winemaking
Tóth Ferenc Pincészet winery’s main aspect in winemaking is the preservation of the old taste of Eger and the combination of the current state-of-the-art technologies with the traditional ones. The estate has 1.5-acre home cellar and 30-acre high-tech, nationally known winery.
The family at the winers do everything themselves from the planting of the grapes to the bottling of the wine
This way they keep the whole process under their control. Grape processing is done by traditional and reductive methods. The grape varieties cultivated on the vineyards to make the excellant top-notch red, white, rose, sparkling and dessert wines are Egri Leányka, Királyleányka, Rajnai Rizling, Olaszrizling, Hárslevelű, Ottonel Muskotály, Kékfrankos, Kadarka, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Merlot.
A long storage provides high-quality wines
The winery produces its wines under the labels such as Egri Leányka, Egri Csillag, Rajnai Rizling, Egri Csillag Superior, Édes Lányom, Semi-sparkling white wine, Semi-sparkling red wine, Egri Leányka Superior Late Harvest, Kadarka, Pinot Noir, Kékfrankos, Egri Bikavér, Egri Bikavér Superior and Egri Bikavér Gran. Most white wines are made by controlled fermentation. After fermentation on the skins, the red wines are unloaded for 1.5-2 years in traditional oak barrels and then presented after at least six months of bottle maturation.
