Villa Bogdano 1880: organic wines, nature and history

Villa Bogdano 1880 is a magical place, an ancient habitat witness to history and to the evolution of life, a centuries-old Estate in an unspoiled place projected into a sustainable future that speaks of nature, life, and passion.

The whole Estate is organic since 1993 and is a single body bordered by two rivers, a unique location that makes it a protected oasis. Plus, it is a historic location with buildings dating back to the 16th century, as the Venetian palace Villa Bogdano and others spread over the Estate.

Thanks to the presence of an ancient lowland wood dating back to Medieval times, it is also a EU certified biodiversity site Natura 2000 with some rare flora and fauna species which we commit to preserve. The real pearl of the Estate is its historic vineyards (about 18 hectares), carefully restored and preserved, used for the production of wines as Lison Classico DOCG. The most ancient one is dating back to the end of the 19th century and is trained with Cassone Padovano method, used by the Benedictine monks in the past centuries. The soil composition with a high content of clay and a deeper layer of calcium carbonate ("caranto"), low yields, the selection of the land plots to use for production make our wines a limited production (only about 30.000 bottles per year) characterised by great intensity and elegance.
