Weingut Breit, a Winery with an Excellent Foundation
Weingut Breit was established in 1965 by Matthias Breit when he bought the winery and put a lot of hard work into developing it. Along with his wife and son, Manfred, he has created an excellent foundation for their family’s future generations. Matthias completed his training in Trier and took over the winery in 1970. Laying successful stones for a great family business, he expanded the winery and wine sales activity. In 1988, there was an expansion of the wine cellar. Weingut Breit is now equipped with modern technology and the latest machinery required for winemaking.
Since 2000, Holger Breit has been running the winery and has turned it into a successful company producing stunning German wines.
Winery Using Organic Techniques
The production of wines at Weingut Breit relies on their vineyards and the wine cellar. Their vineyards lie within 5 kilometers of the estate and are present in Falkenberg, Goldtroepfchen, and Guenterslay areas. The workers use organic techniques that preserve the health of nature and their vineyards.
The town of Piesport has a unique climate and soils, making it an excellent winegrowing location. Weingut Breit handpicks the best grapes used to create complex and elegant Mosel wines in their best vineyards. The main types of grapes grown include Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Bacchus, and Rivaner, creating their award-winning red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines. It is a relatively young winery that has a lot of respect for their family values.
