Producing Afound 100,000 Bottles of Luscious Wines
When Karl Wegner Winery was established, only a few orientated themselves as the leading winemakers. One of them was Joachim Wegner, who acquired his father’s more than 40 years old wine estate and started making wines in the early 2000s. Since then, the winery has bagged many awards. He gives his wines at least 30 months of barrique refining to ensure the organoleptic characteristics remain intact. The winery also has a unique vinotheque, where guests can relish charismatic wine tasting experiences, along with the purchasing of tasty vintages.
Vines that Reflect the Characteristics of Terroirs
The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in individual vineyard plots, such as Fronhof, Spielberg, Herrenberg, Rittergarten, and Fuchsmantel. Sixty percent of the vineyard production is white wines, including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Auxerrois, and Scheurebe. The remaining land is covered by fruity reds, comprising Pinot Noir, Cabernet Cubin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Dornfelder. The berries are picked manually and moved to the cellar with the utmost care.
