Founded by Joachim Wegner, who took over his father's 40-year-old estate in the early 2000s, Karl Wegner Winery has quickly gained recognition for its exceptional wines. With a commitment to quality, each wine undergoes at least 30 months of barrique aging to preserve its unique flavors. Vines Reflecting Unique Terroirs

Spanning 12 hectares, the vineyards include distinct plots such as Fronhof, Spielberg, Herrenberg, Rittergarten, and Fuchsmantel. We visited the winery years ago and tasted and bought the amazing and crazy wines. A few days ago we drank the last magnum of a Cuvée Philipp and were delighted. The 2000 vintage was still amazing! Absolutely brilliant :-)

The Wegner winery is my favorite in the Palatinate: wonderful wines thanks to excellent work in the vineyard and wine cellar. Great wines, including white wines, from the barrique. Last week we drank one of our “wedding wines”: the Cuvée Philipp from 2001, which is still a great pleasure today.

When we took a trip with our camper many years ago, we bought some bottles. The wine was tasty and so the bottles went down quickly. Except 1 bottle. I kept it in my basement. A few days ago I wanted to clear out some bottles because I thought they might be over the top. I also opened a bottle of 2003 Spätburgunder and.........the wine was particularly delicious. A beautiful full nose, a beautiful tanned color and an explosion of flavor. I wish I had put away many more bottles! Great! It was the father of the current winegrower who showed us around.

I visited briefly, was warmly welcomed by the winemaker's wife and tasted some great, unique wines. The wines are authentic in origin, have the winemaker's great signature and, above all, are not overly perfumed mainstream, but good wine with structure and expressiveness. For seven years we have been ordering wine from Weingut Wegner for our friends and acquaintances who are impressed by it. The number of Wegner wine fans in our circle of friends increases every year. The winemaker personally delivers the wine to our region twice a year, which we really appreciate. And we finally managed to visit the region and our winemaker, where we were warmly welcomed by the family and shown where and how the beautiful wines are lovingly made. Dear Mr. Wegner, thank you very much for your hospitality and unforgettable wine experience.
