Kirchner Winery, a Family Estate Producing Wines Since 1974
The Kirchner winery is a family-run estate present in the winegrowing region of Freinsheim in the Pfalz. Their family has been dedicated to wine-growing for many generations. Ulrike and Günter Kirchner have been running the wine-growing estate since 1974. Their son Ralph, with support from his wife Kerstin, is perpetuating the family tradition and introducing ideas for the future at the same time.
The Perfect Fusion of Modern Technology and Tradition
Progress is their tradition, and the most modern technology is hereby combined with classical gentle production processes to make the wines. Kirchner is a part of the Palatinate forum that consists of 27 wineries that produce wines that are loved internationally. Years of experience in the field and exchanging ideas with colleagues form the basis of the forum.
Environmental-friendly Organic Cultivation
Kirchner strives for the excellence of its wines. They attach particular importance to environmental-friendly organic cultivation and intense manual work in their vineyards and cellar. It helps in preserving the health of the environment and the vineyards. Even the natural conditions like soil, climate, rainfall, and temperature are ideal in the region for the growth of high-quality grapes. Their vineyards cover an area of about 18.5 hectares and consists of 60% white and 40% red wine grapes. The main grape varieties that grow here include the Riesling, Spätburgunder, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, and St. Laurent. The best grapes are manually selected and processed to make their exquisite red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines. Their wines have an intense taste and aroma that reflects the Pfalz’s exceptional terroir.
