New Douro Tour

Hi! I'm Pedro and I am a wine enthusiast. I'm fortunate to have been born in a wine country so, being a guide in wine tourism feels natural and very rewarding! Portugal's North is my cosy corner. Vinho Verde, Douro and Távora-Varosa is where my partner wineries are located. I lean towards low-intervention, small quantities, boutique-scaled wineries where we can meet the wine makers and have an overview about the process and their lifestyle.

Pedro is a WSET Level 2 Portuguese Wine Specialist and “wine nerd”.

He has a strong family link to the Douro region and likes to be on top of every detail and latest news of the global wine industry!
He has been designing and crafting authentic wine experiences in the heart of the wine Douro and Vinho Verde regions since 2016.

He's favorite moments are spent with people around good wine and food, so in reality his guided tours are like visiting friends!

Amazing guide, amazing wine, wholeheartedly recommend this experience!

We got picked up at our hotel in Porto and we ended up being the only participants this day. After a drive through the countryside we visited an independent wine farmer at his vineyard in the Vinho Verde region, called Quinta das Escomoeiras. Spent a good amount of time touring the beautiful premises with the owner and Pedro, learning about the winemaking process and of course tasting some of the great wines that the Vinho Verde has to offer, all complimented by homemade snacks made from produce from the farm. Overall a very educational but also relaxing and fun experience. We had lunch in a charming village before we headed over to another wine producer. Here we once again toured the gardens and vines before we had a tasting of four different wines. All throughout the day, Pedro taught us about winemaking, different grapes and local food. For Pedro, showcasing the smaller wine producers in the region was important. We think this was a great choice, getting a bit away from the more crowded and "industrialized" producers, and instead get to visit family-driven, self-sufficient and sustainable wine farms. Vinho Verde might not be the most famous wine region of Portugal, but offers beautiful nature, friendly hosts and of course great wine. Altogether an amazing trip with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide, a lot of experiences and memories, but at the same time relaxing and down to earth. It was a truly enjoyable experience and one we highly reccomend. We hope to return sometime.
