At the foot of Mount Tubenna and a hill overlooked by the castle from which it takes its name, Montevetrano was born in 1983 from a meeting of enthusiasts including Silvia Imparato, the soul of the company, and Riccardo Cotarella, an internationally renowned winemaker. The result was the production of a wine mostly made from Cabernet Sauvignon, which at the time was an unthinkable variety to grow in the area, and a part of Aglianico. Bordeaux style, Montevetrano immediately climbed the industry rankings, quickly becoming the wine that flaunted the province of Salerno and Campania in the world.
