Tour Bio Parco Discovery – A unique experience on Mount Etna with wine tasting

Our Mount Etna tour begins at Favazza Etna Winery, a working farm and the exclusive access point to the Bio Parco Cubania, a private property of approximately 40 hectares located at 1,500 meters above sea level.

Bio Parco Cubania is an unspoiled natural area that preserves some of the most significant geological testimonies of the volcano: the lava flows of 1928 and 1971, a lava flow cave, ancient forests, and monumental trees. Access to the park is permitted exclusively with specialized guides and authorized vehicles.

The experience begins at the winery with a warm welcome, refreshments, and an introductory briefing. The tour then departs aboard Land Rover Defender 130 vehicles (maximum 7 guests per vehicle) for an initial route through the estate’s vineyards, before reaching the votive chapel threatened by the 1971 lava flow—one of the most symbolic sites representing the relationship between humans and the volcano.

The tour continues inside Bio Parco Cubania along a guided route that crosses the lava flows of 1971 and 1928, where it is possible to observe how eruptions from different periods have shaped distinct landscapes and vegetation. The itinerary winds through forests, centuries-old trees, and protected natural areas, with dedicated stops for observing the territory and interpreting the volcano from a geological perspective.

During the experience, there is also a stop near the entrance of a lava flow cave, offering insight into the internal structure of Mount Etna and the transformation of the landscape caused by its eruptive activity.

At the end of the tour, guests return to Favazza Etna Winery, where the experience concludes with a tasting of four glasses of Favazza wines, accompanied by a selection of traditional Sicilian products. Alternatively, upon request, it is possible to choose an olive oil tasting or a tasting of vegetable extracts from the winery’s organic garden.
