A Family Winery in Rhône with Tradition and Quality
The History of Famille Gonnet
Founded in 1950 by Etienne Gonnet, the Font de Michelle winery began with 30 hectares of vines located just southeast of the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. After the passing of their father in 1970, brothers Jean and Michel took the reins, dedicating over three decades to refining their winemaking techniques. In 2002, the family expanded their estate with an additional 20 hectares in Côte du Rhône Village Signargues, rebranding as Font du Vent to reflect their family heritage. The Gonnet family is committed to crafting organic wines that truly express their unique terroir.
Winemaking at Famille Gonnet
In 2016, the next generation took charge as Bertrand and Guillaume, sons of Jean and Michel, stepped into leadership roles. Both equipped with degrees in viticulture and enology, they traveled globally to enhance their understanding of soil and vine management. While preserving traditional winemaking practices and family values, they introduced modern techniques to elevate wine quality. Since 2013, the estate has transitioned to organic farming, earning official certification for their commitment to sustainable practices.
