A Family-Owned Winery with HVE Certification Since 2019
Château Le Grand Verdus: A Legacy of Winemaking Since 1810
Château Le Grand Verdus is nestled in the picturesque hilly landscape of AOC Bordeaux Supérieur, located between the renowned regions of Graves, Médoc, and Saint-Émilion, just 20 kilometers from Bordeaux. The estate has been in the capable hands of the Le Grix de la Salle family for four generations, with ownership of the charming 16th-century mansion and vineyards dating back to 1846. The family’s commitment to crafting exceptional wines blends traditional methods with modern techniques, ensuring a rich heritage of quality. Since the end of World War II, they have transformed the estate into a respected name in the wine industry, with their wines now enjoyed in around twenty countries worldwide.
Unique Terroir and Sustainable Practices
The vineyards span three hectares of diverse soils, benefiting from the region's ideal rainfall and sunshine. This unique microclimate contributes to the authenticity of their wines. The primary grape varieties cultivated here include Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah, which are used to produce a range of red, white, and rosé wines. Committed to environmental sustainability, Château Le Grand Verdus has held HVE certification since 2018 and transitioned to organic practices in 2023. The estate avoids chemical additives, allowing the natural flavors of the grapes to shine through in every bottle.
