The wine was excellent, the food was delicious (especially the eggplant), the view was spectacular, and the owner extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

Georginan wine often has a musty aftertaste—which made me write off the whole industry…until I tried Chona’s Marani. This is the best natural wine I’ve ever had.

Wine tasting

We had a good time at Chona's Marani, but it was different than expected. The person who should do the tour with us and especially speaks English was not there and we have spoken with him only briefly on the phone. This was of course very unfortunate... Instead, his parents have taken over, who were very cordial and have given a lot of effort, but only knew a little English. This made it difficult to ask questions. It was also not really a tour. The parents showed us the room with the Qveri and then we went to their house to eat and taste the wine. The food was home cooked and very tasty! We were given 2 wines to try and we were kindly allowed to take the two bottles home as well. We were there for about 2 hours and also had a nice time with the parents despite the communication difficulties. However, the tour was actually designed for 3 hours and there should also be 3 wines to taste. We have therefore deducted a star because we were promised something else when booking and thus also the price-performance ratio has no longer been right.
