WineTourism.com Co-Leads Global Wine Tourism Research Initiative

WineTourism.com is proud to be one of the key partners in a new global initiative that aims to strengthen the wine tourism industry through knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
Together with Geisenheim University, UN Tourism, the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), and the Great Wine Capitals Global Network (GWC), we are launching a non-profit research project to gather data on global wine tourism trends.
The initiative is driven by the clear need for reliable, up-to-date insights on how wine tourism is evolving - something both academics and industry leaders have struggled to access. The data, gathered through a worldwide survey, will culminate in the first Global Report on Wine Tourism Trends, to be released in late 2025.
“Our common goal is to deliver knowledge directly to wineries and tourism stakeholders. This year's survey focuses on innovation and new patterns that are shaping the future of wine tourism.”
– Professor Gergely Szolnoki, Geisenheim University
As a global leader in wine tourism, WineTourism.com brings a unique perspective from both the digital and industry sides. Our involvement reflects our deep commitment to sustainable, inclusive tourism and our support for rural communities and wine producers.
The final report will be presented at prestigious events such as the UN Tourism Wine Tourism Conference (October 6–7, Bulgaria) and GWC’s Annual Conference (November 2–6, Bordeaux). Wineries and tourism providers around the world are encouraged to participate. Your voice is essential to helping the industry grow smarter and stronger!
Final report and updates on this research will be published here.
