Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival

Texas USA April 9–13, 2026

Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival is one of the wine festivals that anchors the Texas calendar, drawing both local visitors and international wine travellers each year. It is held at Heart of the Ranch at Clearfork in Fort Worth, in the heart of one of USA's most distinctive wine areas. It is an annual event with an established local audience and a consistent place in the regional calendar.

Four ticketed events over four days. Features new 'Taste of Texas Row' in 2026 with expanded chef lineup. Wine festivals across Europe typically combine producer tastings with food pairings, live music, and a strong sense of place. Visitors can expect access to wines from a range of producers in the appellation, alongside food stalls offering regional specialities, masterclasses or vineyard walks for those who want to learn more, and an opportunity to buy directly from producers at cellar prices. Many events run across multiple days or weekends, allowing visitors to sample different parts of the programme according to interest, and combine well with the area's wider tourism offer. The event is organised by Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival (organization), which sets the tone and direction of the programme each year.

Texas is the fifth-largest wine-producing state in the United States and has grown rapidly over the past two decades. The state has eight AVAs, with the Texas Hill Country (the second-largest AVA in the United States by area) and the Texas High Plains the two main quality zones. The High Plains, in the Panhandle around Lubbock, supplies most of the grapes for Texas wineries thanks to its high altitude (1,000m+), low humidity and warm dry growing season — particularly suited to Mediterranean varieties like Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Mourvèdre, Viognier and Albariño. The Hill Country, between Austin and San Antonio, is the wine-tourism heartland of Texas, with producers like Becker Vineyards, William Chris Vineyards, Pedernales Cellars, Duchman Family Winery and Bending Branch leading the regional quality.

The 2026 edition is scheduled for April 9-13, 2026. Cost details are best confirmed directly with the organiser ahead of travel. Full programme, ticketing and updated information are published on the official site at fortworthfoodandwine.com. Visitors are advised to check directly with the organiser for the latest schedule, as festival programmes are sometimes updated close to the event date.

Texas Hill Country is reached most easily via Austin (AUS) or San Antonio (SAT) airports, with Fredericksburg the wine-tourism centre and the 290 Wine Trail the main tasting route. The Hill Country pairs wine tourism with the area's German heritage (Fredericksburg was founded in 1846 by German immigrants), the live music capital culture of Austin (Austin City Limits, SXSW), the Texas barbecue culture of Lockhart and Driftwood, and the wider Texas food scene including Tex-Mex, breakfast tacos and the strong Mexican-American culinary traditions of San Antonio.
