Visit the beautiful wine region of Victoria
Banks Road Vineyard is a family-run, small production winery based in the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria. William and Avanelle Derham established the vineyard in 2002, planting first 5 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay then expanding to Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz.
Following the principle of minimal intervention
Will’s winemaking philosophy of minimalist intervention from their low yielding vineyard encourages high natural and sugar levels, resulting in well structured, elegant wines made with passion.
The winery is adopting biodynamic principles, eliminating the use of insecticides and moving to eliminate the use of all chemicals on the land
The winery not only processes the Banks Road grapes, but also makes wine for other small producers in the area. All Banks Road wines are made on site, so from grape to bottle to tasting counter the estate wines travel only 400 metres!
Pay a visit to the museum of the Banks Road winery
The 12 acres of grapes are planted which includes Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Shiraz. They also source Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes from the Harcourt Valley near Bendigo.
The wines have received many accolades at shows and in reviews by wine writers. Banks Road Vineyard was awarded 5 Star Status in the 2020 James Halliday Wine Companion.
Their recently completed cellar door is open from Thursday to Sunday. They offer tastings of the current Banks Road range, and also have a range of museum stock for you to peruse.
