Béres Vineyards and Winery – A Home to the First Furmint Grape Variety
Relishing the charms of the prestigious Tokaj wine region, Béres Vineyards and Winery is a young, dynamic wine estate located in the beautiful village of Erdőbénye, Hungary. The company makes a complete range of Tokaji style wines, ranging from brute nature sparkling wines to Eszencia. As a leading winery, Béres Vineyards and Winery has won about 130 national and international awards over the last ten years.
Production of Around 8300 Wine Cases – Mostly Furmint
It all began in the pharmaceutical field in the 70s with Béres Drops, a supplement that boosts the immunity system. Dr. József Béres, the inventor’s son, and his wife, Klára, established the winery because of their attachment to the Tokaj region and its wines. Later in 2002, the couple completed a bigger project and gave birth to Béres Vineyards and Winery. Today, the winery encompasses 45 hectares of land, where cutting-edge winemaking techniques, blended with traditional methods, are carried to produce top-quality Tokaj wines.
The Most Beautiful Vineyard of Hungary
Focusing on traditional grape varieties, namely Furmint and Hárslevelű, the Béres Winery produces around 150,000 bottles of wines every year. They also grow top-quality Sárgamuskotály, Zéta, and Kövérszőlő, through which they create delicious white, sparkling, and dessert wines. The estate-owned vineyards are stretched over the finest terroirs of Lőcse, Diókút, and Omlás, providing optimum climate and soil for the growth of vines.
