Winemaking with a Great Respect for Nature
In the village of Chañarmuyo, with 100 inhabitants in total, Jorge Chamas started growing vines in 2001 for Chañarmuyo Winery. Jorge established the winery and continues to create excellent wines with a great philosophy of winemaking. All staff members work with respect for their natural surroundings, producing superb wines from La Rioja in perfect balance and harmony.
Chañarmuyo Winery exports their wines internationally and has won several awards over several vintages.
The vineyards, situated near Blanco River and Duranzo River, in the most beautiful wine-growing area of the Mendoza region, give rise to high quality grapes. Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay are the main vareties cultivated. A few part of Chañarmuyo Valley enjoy more fertile soils, perfect for the cultivation of Tannat, Petit Verdot, Syrah, and Viognier. These vines are systematically and carefully fermented in steel tanks to give rise to top-notch red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines.
