The history of Château de l’Hurbe dates back to the 18th century. It is a family property since 1921. Marc Bousseau took over the estate in 1982. The castle locates on the hillsides overlooking the Dordogne. In the 90s, they restructured the vineyard. Today, the winery uses 100% of grape production.
The red vineyard covers an area of 27 hectares. It includes 10 hectares in Côtes de Bourg and 13.5 ha in Bordeaux. The grape varieties include Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Malbec. The white vineyard covers an area of 3.5 hectares. For the whites, they plant Sauvignon and Sémillon grapes to produce dry white wine, Crémant, and sparkling grape juice.
