Experience the Terroir of Château Dudon

Château Dudon is nestled in the charming village of Baurech, along the banks of the Garonne River, just a short drive southeast of Bordeaux. Spanning 85 hectares, the vineyard benefits from its proximity to the river and favorable climatic conditions. The soil, rich in clay and limestone, offers excellent drainage, which is essential for cultivating high-quality grapes.

The Wines of Château Dudon

At Château Dudon, the focus is on crafting exceptional red wines from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, alongside white wines made from Sémillon and Sauvignon grapes. The winery emphasizes a commitment to the terroir and traditional winemaking techniques associated with the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux and Bordeaux appellations. Utilizing organic fertilizers and a Bordeaux mixture, Château Dudon nurtures its vines through sustainable practices.

Excellent welcome from Cristophe (winemaker who owns the castle) and his partner. We stayed in the gîte next to the castle and were able to enjoy the extensive park. The tour of the vineyard and the cellar lasted an hour and a half and was very interesting. Thank you for the detailed explanations of each step of the Sauterne production!

Great tasting carried out by the passionate owner and in a warm setting. We learned the history of the castle (and were able to admire its matchstick model) and more about Sauterne. We were able to taste 5 Sauternes, one of which was almost 30 years old, which is rare these days, especially for a free tasting. He also gave us a quick, very interesting wine lesson while tasting. The castle is also organic! We highly recommend and look forward to visiting next summer.

For this visit and its wines, I only have one word: magical. Organically grown Sauternes with wonderful results. During the visit, they told us the history of the winery and left us speechless. Thank you very much for the service.
