Transformation of Château Les Amoureuses
In 2011, Jean-Pierre Bedel and his wife Florence took over the winery and its vineyards. They undertook a comprehensive redesign of the estate, revamping vineyard management practices, grape selection, and the processes for aging and blending wines.
Grapes of Château Les Amoureuses
Spanning 76 hectares, the vineyards of Château Les Amoureuses are located in Bourg-Saint-Andéol and Saint-Marcel-d’Ardèche. The terroir features clay-limestone and limestone marls, supporting a diverse range of grape varieties. The estate primarily cultivates 90% red grapes, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan, alongside 10% white grapes like Marsanne and Viognier. Recently, they have also introduced Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Malbec, among others. The vineyard density is 4,000 vines per hectare. The cellar at Château Les Amoureuses is a striking sight, with dark walls adorned with luminous stars, creating a unique atmosphere.
