A winemaking family since 1683, Chumbderhof definitely has a lot to offer you.
A Perfect Blend of Tradition with Modern Ways
While more than 300 years of winemaking certainly puts forward a tradition and some techniques, Chumbderhof has not stuck only to its tradition and preserved grown structure to create a better quality life with modern modernizations and traditional skills.
Vines That Feel Comfortable in Their Region
VInes need plenty to grow strong. Plenty of sun, the Rhenish Hesse hills, the fresh air and the soil make the vines here what they are. Riesling, Grauburgunder, Weißburgunder, Silvaner, Sauvignon blanc, Scheurebe, Portugieser, Spätburgunder, Merlot and Dornfelder grow here with joy to give you the best of wines. The result are wines that show their origin in aroma and taste.
A Family WInery That Have Been Making Wines Since 1683
Chumbderhof portrays the story of a winery family. Since 1683, the family has been making the best of wines that are rich in different characters, sometimes bubbly, sometimes restrained but they are always exciting. The history of the Chumberhof Winery goes back to the Cisterician monastery Chumbd in the Hunsruck near Simmern that was found in the year 1180. Wilhelm Zimmermann was able to lease the property in 1683 and since then, the Zimmermann has got hold of the winery property. The tenth generation of the family carries forward the legacy of winemaking with grace, respect and passion.
