Chumbderhof Winery has been crafting exceptional wines for over 300 years. With a rich history dating back to 1683, you can trust that the winemakers here have mastered their craft through generations of experience.
A proud winemaking family since 1683, Chumbderhof offers a unique taste of tradition.

Where Tradition Meets Innovation

With a legacy spanning more than three centuries, Chumbderhof combines time-honored techniques with modern practices. This blend of tradition and innovation ensures that each bottle reflects the winery's commitment to quality and excellence.

Vines Thriving in Rheinhessen

The ideal conditions of the Rheinhessen region—ample sunshine, gentle hills, and rich soil—nurture the vines at Chumbderhof. Varieties such as Riesling, Grauburgunder, and Spätburgunder flourish here, producing wines that capture the essence of their terroir in both aroma and flavor.

A Family Legacy Since 1683

Chumbderhof tells the story of a family dedicated to winemaking. The winery's roots trace back to the Cistercian monastery Chumbd, founded in 1180. Wilhelm Zimmermann leased the property in 1683, and since then, the Zimmermann family has continued the winemaking tradition. Today, the tenth generation carries on this legacy with passion and respect for the craft.

We spent a lovely weekend with friends. Wine tasting in the vineyards, sitting together in the courtyard in the evening with great weather and good wine. On the last evening, we tried the last type of wine that was missing while eating good food at Beef&Wine. Highly recommended. Holiday feeling.

We discovered the winery and the holiday apartments by chance when we were looking for accommodation for a bachelorette party. The family was so warm and friendly from the first second we inquired about the reservation. We were warmly welcomed on site and had a perfect wine tasting with Marie. The apartments were very clean and nothing was missing. We can only recommend the winery and the holiday apartment in all respects. Thank you for the great weekend with you! The girls' JGA :)

I got to know the winery and the family at the wine summer in Bochum. Very nice people, very good wine! Tasting Notes: Malvasia: First fruity, sweet and refreshing, then autumn/Christmas spice aromas spread in the mouth. Very exciting, never drank anything like this before. Cuvee Yellow Muscat Riesling semi-dry: Very pleasant, round wine: The normally very lush, fruity-spicy Muscat becomes a little slimmer with Riesling and clearly gains in minerality, freshness and liveliness. Good wine that you can drink a little more of in a nice atmosphere with an antipasti or cheese platter without it becoming fattening and wide in your mouth. Very pleasant summer wine.

Went there for dinner on a recommendation. Everything's great! You sit in a rustic courtyard, the steak was really very good and the price absolutely fine. Also very pleasant staff charming, attentive but unobtrusive. Good wine recommendations! What more could you want?
