Cristiana Bettili Wines consists of three beautiful wineries located across Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Cristiana Bettili is an entrepreneur that owns the triad, along with her father, Siro, and has converted the company into organic wine estates, namely Tenuta Plozner, Vignega estate, and Sorsei estate. From Friulian whites to Bardolino reds and Valpolicella reds, the estates deliver top-class wines.

A Winery with a Rich History – Began in the Early 20th-Century

In the first decades of the 1900s, the Bettili family started a wine production business that includes cultivating grapes, producing wines, and exporting them locally. Later in 1965, Siro Bettili bought the Sorsei Estate in the Garda Hinterland, in Cavaion. Within the estate, Siro began poultry farming, along with viticulture. For 40 years, the owners adhered to traditional grape farming methods until 2002 – Cristiana restored all the vineyards with modern Guyot training techniques.

Bought the Property of Counts Serego Alighieri

In 1977, Siro purchased another ancient estate with its eight hectares vineyards and named it Vignega Estate. The winery belonged to the noble family of Sant’Ambrogio, the true descendants of Dante Alighieri, a famous Italian poet. In 2005, Cristiana renovated an ancient wine cellar into a modern barrel room with the vaulted ceilings of the 15th century. Villa is a magnificent place for tourists to dive into the history of medieval families.

Cristiana expanded the family business by purchasing another winery, Plozner Estate, based in Barbeano di Spilimbergo, in the heart of DOC Grave in 2013. Surrounded by perfect terroirs and pedoclimate, 43 hectares of vineyards are entirely cultivated with several grape varieties. Initially established by Lisio Plozner in the 1960s, today, the estate produces some of the best Italian labels, including DOCG & DOC Valpolicella, DOC Bardolino, and DOC Friuli Grave.
