D’Antiche Terre – A Winery Surrounded by Nature

For over 40 years, D’Antiche Terre has been a family-run winery, showcasing the rich winemaking heritage of three generations. Nestled in the picturesque Irpinia region of Campania, this winery beautifully illustrates the deep connection between the land and the art of winemaking. The area is known for its dual character, with the Calore River nurturing robust red wines and the Sabato River fostering elegant white varieties.

Where Tradition Meets Innovation

The rolling hills of Irpinia, adorned with lush vineyards, create a stunning backdrop for D’Antiche Terre. The winery cultivates grapes in several key locations, including Tuff, Saint Pauline, Prato Principato Ultra, Pratola Serra, Pietradefusi, Montefusco, Manocalzati, and Torre le Nocelle. D’Antiche Terre stands at the forefront of winemaking in the region, blending time-honored traditions with modern techniques. This harmonious approach is evident throughout the winemaking process, from the selection of barrels to the bottling stage.

Modern Facilities with a Touch of History

The winery has recently undergone renovations to enhance its facilities, making it more accessible for wine tourism. This thoughtful integration of contemporary design with historical elements reflects the winery's commitment to quality from vine to bottle. D’Antiche Terre proudly produces three esteemed DOCG wines: Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, and Taurasi, each representing the unique terroir of the region.

I really appreciated the Aglianico vs. the good Fiano and finally the Falanghina.

They say: better a good Aglianico than a terrible Taurasi... but in the case of D'Antiche Terre, we have an excellent Irpinia Aglianico and an excellent Taurasi... the Vicario is a great wine, balanced and to be discovered by tasting the various vintages. Each bottle improves more and more as time passes, acquiring softness, aromas and complexity.... it is not a wine for everyone, but it is certainly for true connoisseurs who love meditation wines. The others are simply wonderful, you can see the quality of the true winemaking craftsmanship and the maximum dedication of the producer....in short, the real Irpino wine, the one from the past, the free-range, serious and fascinating one that leaves all other wines light years behind "INDUSTRIAL"...a few words to the wise connoisseur....
