The Rich Heritage of Domaine de Malavieille

Domaine de Malavieille has a fascinating history that dates back to the French Revolution. Farmer Fulcran Reynes inherited the estate from Monsieur De Thémine, who fled France in 1793. Fulcran and his wife Zénobie nurtured the vineyard, passing it down to their granddaughter, Cécile Vigné. Today, the winery is owned by her descendant, Mireille Lacas-Bertrand, who is dedicated to crafting wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

The Biodynamic Practices at Domaine de Malavieille

The Bertrand family manages the vineyards in Saint Saturnin de Lucian and Montpeyroux, cultivating 17 grape varieties that contribute to a diverse range of aromas and flavors in their wines. All grapes are grown in the rich soils of the Languedoc region, and the winery is certified in biodynamic agriculture. Domaine de Malavieille has received numerous prestigious awards, highlighting its commitment to quality and sustainability in winemaking.

What an encounter and what wines told by the owner... We were able to taste a few, bought a few boxes and got the scoop on a bottle that had just come out the same day as bottling and was intended for him!!! Thank you Thank you.... You live your vineyard, winemaking and wines... you tell them so well... See you soon when we come back that way because for sure we will stop again...

According to the RVF: Red Guide 2014 score of 14/20 Colorful, with notes of black fruits on the nose and on the palate, presenting a nicely extracted material with silky tannins, this wine is civilized and round. It’s a good Languedoc, quite universal, but well developed. 2010 vintage Red Guide 2013 another good result with 14/20 Good constitution, its character marked by Syrah delivers slightly secondary aromas of pepper. Solid material, with a fairly dense core which gives length. A lovely style with discreet woodiness. Demeter certified.

Excellent wines which keep well after opening the bottle. The boutine is excellent value for money! and suits my palate. It is fruity and round without acidity on the palate. For my part, I enjoy it with fish and lobster where it develops prodigious aromas with vanilla and toast. ..!
