Domaine de Poulvarel is located in Sernhac, near the Pont du Gard. They are a family run estate that cultivates with a great passion wine for several generations. Domaine de Poulvarel covers an area of 40 hectares of vines and the vineyards in the Rhône Valley offer both amazing red and white wines. Domaine de Poulvarel produces their wines in Costières de Nîmes and Vins de Pays appellations. The winery boasts a noteworthy modern geometric design, using Pont du Gard stones and a contemporary insulation siding. Uniquen Terroir at Domaine de Poulvarel
Domaine de Poulvarel grows Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Mourvèdre grape varieties in their production of red wines. You will find each of their products reflects the characteristics and uniqueness of the terroir. The shallow and more gravelly soils, as well as Sauvignon, Cabernet, and Merlot grapes enable them to offer fruity and surprisingly sweet wines.
Explore the Ancient Tunnels
In addition to lovely wines, Domaine de Poulvarel offers a great wine tourism experience. The estate has two ancient tunnels “Perrottes” and “Cantarelles.” Pascal Glas, a native of Sernhac, used these tunnels as his playground. He decided to pay tribute by offering their names to two of his most prominent cuvées. Today, tourists can visit the site to discover these tunnels.
