Domaine LUQUET, a Family Winery
Domaine Luquet Burgundy became Domaine LUQUET in 2017. Since 1878, it is located in the center of the village of Fuissé in Saone-et-Loire. With 30 herctares of vines, they produce more than 240,000 bottles a year, 40% of which are sold in France and 60% in the world market. In November 1966, Roger and his wife Renée, the fifth generation of the family, settled on a 4-hectare parcel and created the DOMAINE LUQUET ROGER. After years of efforts, they wove a sales network in France and abroad.
The Great Range of Wines from Domaine LUQUET
In 2014, Kévin, the sixth generation, started working at the winery. He worked diligently in the vineyards to learn all the subtleties of each plot. Persevering bold, and striving to do well, Kevin also has a huge role in the commercial part of the winery. The vineyard is mainly composed of Chardonnay. You can discover the best of their production in Pouilly-Fuissé, Pouilly-Loché, Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Villages, and Crémant de Bourgogne wines. Red Burgundy is also made from Pinot Noir.
The Unique Terroir of Domaine LUQUET
The calcareous terrain allows the Chardonnay grape to produce dry and fruity white wines whose best ambassadors are Pouilly-Fuissé and Saint-Véran. Since the most remote times, men have settled there. Like its neighbors, Chaintré and Solutré, Fuissé – of FUSCOUS or FUSCIACUS – takes its current name from the Roman occupation. Today, it is Fuissé that gave its name to the soil, probably because on all the western slope, a remarkable development of the clays with flint famous for producing noble and powerful wines.
