Domaine LUQUET: A Family-Owned Estate Since 1878
Domaine Luquet, formerly known as Domaine Roger Luquet, has been a cherished family estate since 1878, located in the picturesque village of Fuissé in Saône-et-Loire. Spanning 32 hectares of vineyards, the estate produces over 240,000 bottles annually, with 40% sold in France and 60% reaching international markets. The estate has been nurtured by four generations, starting with Roger and his wife Renée, who cultivated 4 hectares in 1966. Today, Christine and Patrick Luquet continue this legacy, ensuring the family’s commitment to quality and tradition.
A Diverse Range of Wines from Domaine LUQUET
In 2014, the sixth generation, Loïc and Kévin, joined the family business. Kévin dedicates his time to understanding the nuances of each vineyard parcel, while Loïc manages the commercial and administrative aspects, often greeting visitors during tastings. The vineyard primarily features Chardonnay, producing exceptional wines such as Pouilly-Fuissé, Pouilly-Loché, Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Villages, and Crémant de Bourgogne. Additionally, red Burgundy wines are crafted from Pinot Noir, showcasing the estate's versatility.
The Unique Terroir of Domaine LUQUET
The limestone soil of the region allows the Chardonnay grape to thrive, resulting in dry, fruity white wines, with Pouilly-Fuissé and Saint-Véran as standout examples. The area has a rich history, with roots tracing back to Roman times, and Fuissé is known for its remarkable terroir, particularly on the western slopes of clay and flint, which are celebrated for producing noble and powerful wines. Visit Domaine LUQUET from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on select Sundays and holidays.
