Etyeki Kúria Winery: close to Budapest

Established in 1996, Etyeki Kúria Winery had a grape growing area of 2 hectares at Etyek Old-Hill, located only half an hour outside of Budapest. In 2002, significant developments were made like modern processing and a wine tasting room. Today the vineyard is spread across 27 hectares already. This winery was the pioneer to plant Pinot Noir grape in the Etyek-Buda wine region and the wine produced won many world-class awards for the winery.

Every wine made in this winery is made sure that it is of top quality and reflects the authenticity of the Etyek region

In 2009, a partnership was established with the Esterházy Winery of Trausdorf located near the Hungarian-Austrian border. With this cooperation, there was an exchange of marketing expertise along with viticultural and vinicultural ideas.

Taste the rich wines at site

Since 2009, Sándor Mérész has been working as the chief winemaker. He has overlooked the modernization of the winery alongside Sára Matolcsy and László Babarczi. His primary task is to review the winery’s product, followed by the assessment and optimization of the company’s design. They have a team that works to keep up with their hard-earned reputation with the rich wines they make.

Experience international as well as autochthonous varieties

The winery that initially started with 2 hectares has today grown into 54 hectares in two wine regions where varietals like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Kékfrankos, Merlot, Pinot Gris, and Királyleányka are extensively grown which are used to make Etyek-Buda, Sopron and Dunántúl. The red, white, sparkling and rose wines bear unique flavor and richness.
