Elite-level winery owner experience

La Roccacia is located in San Gimignano in the Chianti region, and owner Franco Ricci began making wine in 1988, after earning a diploma in winemaking from the Agricultural Technical Institute of Siena. For ten years, he worked at Guicciardini Strozzi, where his love and passion for producing high-quality wines was reinforced as he was responsible for transforming grapes into quality wine. Through all this work, he gained extensive knowledge of how to manage a modern winery and its day-to-day operations. He now successfully runs his own winery, La Roccaia.

The La Roccaia farm

Franco's grandfather began winemaking to be close to nature and gradually expanded it to become one of the finest producers of world-famous San Gimignano and Chianti Colli Senesi wines. The company began with 5 hectares of vineyards but gradually expanded to 18 hectares. In addition to their core wines, they also produce Vinsanto del Chianti, a classic method sparkling wine, and rosé. They also have an olive grove for the production of extra virgin olive oil.

Fantastic and convenient location for touring all of Tuscany. Wonderful pool and very well maintained. The apartment is equipped with everything you need and even a little more. Breakfast wonderfully prepared by Grazia. Few necessary rules, lots of kindness and availability. Highly recommended!

We spent a wonderful holiday in this farmhouse, surrounded by greenery and tranquility, the fabulous swimming pool for moments of relaxation and excellent position to visit the surrounding area, the owner Grazia is a wonderful person, she made us feel at home and pampered us with her exquisite breakfasts ❤️ I highly recommend it

Had a wonderful wine tasting experience at the family winery over looking the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The two sisters from the family running the winery greeted us on arrival and gave us a tour of the barrell room before they gave a tasting of about 4-5 of their delicious wines with some antipasto. We then got to drink some more wine on the beautiful terrace over looking the vineyards with two bottles of wine given to us when we left. This is was a wonderful and highly enjoyable experience and I highly recommend it.

A few days ago we went wine tasting with a small group. It is a small family business - very well organized. Samantha gave us great information about the wines and production. We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it. The wines are of great quality and the price-performance ratio is excellent. You can see the love that is put into the work. We will definitely come back.
